General Guidance
Before you can move a goat onto your land, (and before you can purchase a goat from us), you will need a County Parish Holding number. Please visit the official guidance page here.
Next, you will need to give the Animal and Plant Health Agency your CPH number. They will register you as a livestock keeper and send you a herd mark. The APHA can be contacted on 03000 200 301 or customer.registration@apha.gov.uk
You must provide details of any movement of goats to or from your land to the Livestock Information Service (LIS). For guidance on how to record movements properly please visit the official page here. We are happy to advise you if you have any questions about husbandry or the legal requirements of keeping goats.
