Early Years
Animal Confusion
Oh no! Farmer Lee has got a problem and needs your help. The pigs keep trying to fly and the chickens think they are goats! Can you help him to use the features of the animals to work out what they are? You will think about parts of the body, how they move, what sounds they make and more. Receive a Fabulous Farmer certificate from Farmer Lee for all your hard work.
Farmer for a Day
Farmer Lee has gone on holiday and needs you to help him look after the animals left behind. He only needs you to look after the farm animals so you will need to use the clues to find out which belong on a farm and which do not. Farmer Lee will make you part of his farming team at World of Country Life and give you a certificate for being such fabulous farmers!
Key Stage 1
Animal Keeper
Learn what animals need to be healthy and stay alive. Farmer Lee wants to check that all the animals have what they need to survive. Find out about HAWF and look for similarities and differences between the animals’ needs at World of Country Life. Report back to Farmer Lee and let him know whether the animals have everything they need to be happy and healthy.
Animal Detectives
The fun-loving ferrets have hidden some of ‘Appy Angus’ treasure. Can you use the animal clues at each of the locations to find out where they are hidden? Use the features of the animals to work out what type of animal they are and learn about birds, mammals and insects along the way. Let Angus know where his treasure is and he will give you an Animal Detective certificate for your help.
Key Stage 2
Food Glorious Food
Can you sort your predators from your prey? Do you know your carnivores and consumers? Find out all about the diets of the animals at World of Country Life in this interactive trail. Use the sorting trees and fact boards to work out what types of animals we have and make links between them to create your own food chains.
Gestation Investigation
Join us at World of Country Life for a self-led investigation. Can you predict whether the taller the animal the longer the gestation period? Can you locate the animal facts to collect evidence and find any relationships? Conduct your scientific research before plotting your results on graphs to find out if you were right.
