In a bid to be more environmentally friendly we have replaced all our takeaway containers, coffee cups and cutlery with compostable alternatives – even the plastic lids and straws are made from vegetable products so they are fully compostable. The product we are using is Vegware.
Vegware is made from plants not plastic and can be recycled with food waste (the mix of materials and food waste made it really difficult to recycle the products we had before).
Vegware products break down in less than 12 weeks in industrial composting and returns nutrients to the soil.
Not only are Vegware products made from recycled and renewable products, but they are also strong!
We’ve also introduced a re-usable water can too (plastic water bottles are the only single use plastic we have, so this is a way to try to combat that).
